Getting started

Position yourself over the anchor, then tap Drop anchor. Vigia draws a guard circle and learns your swing circle as the boat swings. If the boat leaves the circle, the alarm sounds.

For a reliable alarm

• Set location permission to “Always”.
• Keep the sound on and the volume up.
• Keep the device charged (plugged in overnight).
• iOS may suspend apps: Vigia cannot be guaranteed against the system closing it.

FAQ

The circle won't form?

The circle is derived from a real swing arc: the boat must veer with the wind/current, over time. A single there-and-back isn't enough.

No wind shown?

Weather needs an internet connection. Offline it shows “unavailable” and retries later.

Leaving the boat?

Tap Pause to freeze the watch (dinghy ashore). If you forgot, Settings ▸ Clean track removes the points that went ashore.

Safety

Vigia is an aid, not a substitute for a proper watch. The safety of the vessel and crew remains the sole responsibility of the skipper.
